Welcome to Week 35! The last week of school! 4 Days and a nice evening Thursday and you are done! Make a weekly folder… or not, it doesn’t matter!
I ask that you sign and give back your Prep gifts today if you are willing to donate them back to the system! It is nice having the sigs and little notes inn the gifts through the years. If you are willing, I want your name and sig (and year), but if really want your gift take it home today! But just going to chuck it next year or whatever, leave it here!
This Thursday is Recognition Night! Make sure your family and friends are aware and you have off work. The event is nice, people in this room are going to earn awards, and we take our class photo at the end of the night.
Today we are going to be hosting Camels Hump middle school students in the PM to do a couple short workshops.
- Choose a project / medium you are proud of – Blender, Unreal, Premiere, etc
- Let the visitor hands on change things and get practice with your project.
- Get them doing HANDS ON work and make them feel welcome. It’s the end of the year for these kids as well, let’s just be chill fam for the day. You will have them for only 15 minutes!
- If you make them laugh and smile I am happy.
- Assume each of you will get a visitor for both sessions today. If you don’t, we ask that you aren’t a distraction!
Due to popular request for a multi-day D&D game (see below), I removed the reading this week. Return your books, the end of the year is here! We need 2 GAWD students to participate to rep us.
Here is Week 35, and our FINAL week of school (4 day week)
- Monday – Certification Exam in AM / We host some middle school kids for exercise in the PM
- Tuesday – GAWD goes to the movies / chill in PM
  - We pay for tickets
  - You pay for concessions if you want them
  - We may / may not be back for lunch, have a big breakfast
- Wednesday – Migrate and backup all data from GAWD computers. Get copies of all work off the computers, remove any games or accounts, etc
- Thursday – Chill in AM / Recognition night rehearsal / Recognition Night starts at 6:30 or so this night in the Rink!
  - I am NOT going home on Thursday, or leaving, so if you want to stay and chill and game and bring some food in and social and what not you can. Then you don’t have to back and forth to home. Last year kids chilled, gamed, went to Martone’s together, etc. I thought I even saw a guy ask a girl out for dinner…. solid move to be honest. So if sticking around helps get you to show up Thursday night than please plan for it!

Tomorrow we go to the movies! Don’t be late tomorrow! Bring $$$

Headphones off / room silent.
Bright lights on.
Exit the room when you have completed your exam. Go to lunch or GAWD2. Don’t get in trouble! If you do get in trouble remember….
When the doors are open you are welcome to return.
Everyone will think they failed, just breath and take your time.

Step 1 – point your browser to the certification testing site.
Step 2 – login with appropriate credentials [username and password provided for the individual student]. Login link should appear automatically. If not it should be in the upper right corner.
Step 3 – students will not need to change their password when they first login. But, we do recommend changing their password at some point.
Step 4 – scroll down to the Certified Web Designer Apprentice Exam (or search for CWDSA) and click to enter the exam environment.
Step 5 – agree to the terms of the exam.
Step 6 – the quiz should appear after the above agreement.
Step 7 – the password to access the exam itself is 26WebDesignRocks
Step 8 – one can only move forward in the exam (one cannot return to and revise the answer to a prior question). Students will have up to 180 minutes to complete the exam.
Step 9 – make sure they click the submit all and finish button before exiting the exam.
Step 10 – we will review and issue any certificate within 3 business days after students have completed the exam.
