WEEKS 28-29 – Distance Learning

Welcome to Cawd 2 – Distance Ed Model

The next several weeks are certainly going to be a memorable time in education. Cawd 2 is positioned to finish our final quarter of high school on a positive note.

March 23rd – April 3rd.

Objectives:
Community: Implement social distancing while maintaining the important connections, relationships, and learning that make up our Cawd 2 classroom.
Learning: Create engagement, build an online community and develop routines so we keep moving forward.
Equity: Design learning experiences that provide equal access to all. I recognize we have different technologies, home responsibilities and obligations.

For the next two weeks we will be working through a maintenance of learning model. I’ll post on Monday a selection of activities for the week with the expectation that you will complete those activities and submit by the of the day Friday for grading.

During this time we will not have “lectures” or required time to be on-line. However, the base level expectation is that you check-in each day (email, dayplan, Discord) and communicate with me by submitting assignments and/or emailing.

Your attendance is tied directly to your ability to complete and submit work. If you are not completing and submitting then you must be ghosting the course. For that, you’ll get a call home and your parents will be involved. You don’t want that!

If schools close beyond April 3rd, we’ll move into Phase 2 which will be a more daily model of lessons.

Access to food during school closings

If you are hungry remember that EWSD is going to continue to provide food. Check out these listings and options to make sure everyone is well fed while at home!

Finally, we are all in this together. Put your best foot forward. Communicate with me, Mr. Lance, Ms. Charron if we can do anything for you.
