About Me

My name is Kat and I am an animator, 3D modeler, traditional and digital artist. When I was younger I would spend my time drawing, creating sculptures, props, or machines with whatever I could find. Now, I am a student in my Junior year in CAWD, the computer animation and web design program at the Center for Technology, Essex. Something that surprised me in CAWD was how much I am enjoying the web design parts of the program. I didn’t expect this because web design doesn’t have a main focus of art, like computer animation does. After High School I would like to continue to work more towards my goal to have a career in animation, game design, or animatronic engineering. I have always had an interest in art and technology, which is what sparked my interest in animation. This is because it is a combination of both, which I find fascinating.

Some interests of mine that helped foster my interest in animation are films from Pixar and Disney, such as Brave and Moana, as well as video games such as Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The amazing graphics in these games and films fascinated me. This led me to want to learn how I could make my own 3D models and animations.

I like to incorporate my interests into my artwork, a main one being the K-pop band, BTS. Some music videos of theirs that have inspired me are We are Bulletproof: The Eternal, Dynamite, and Dream ON. I am inspired by the visuals and aesthetics from their music videos. I am also inspired by BTS’s characters from their collaboration with Line Friends, BT21. Some other interests of mine that I have incorporated into my work are My Hero Academia, Disney, and video games, like Minecraft and Among Us.
