11:35 Sketching Content: The Bowl

As part of our 3rd Quarter Sketch Work we are going to be focusing on elements of common still life sketches – preparing our portfolios with work for college and employment.

We worked win wine bottles and jugs last week. Now we are going to the bowl. Bowl’s show up in many still life examples, and we will fill the bowl in time – but first we have to draw the bowl well.

Following are two resources to view. The first is twice the length of the second, but has more information and I think is a nice calming video to listen to. Watch at least one, as you have time maybe watch them both while you create, and draw the best bowl you can.

12:00 DH24: Bowl

In the next page of your sketchbook I want you to draw a bowl. Nothing else, beyond the bowl itself and some shading to signify that it is sitting on a table or the ground. Put all your effort into the bowl – nothing else!

Sign and date.

Save as “(lastName)DH24.jpg”. This will be due the Wednesday we return from vacation at our Critiques.
