We have the SkillsUSA Vermont State Design Competitions in 10 days! Skills is pretty fun actually, not all stress and work.
- Winning the Gold Medal at Nationals in Web Design
- Winning the Gold and Bronze at State in Web Design
- Winning the Silver Medal at Nationals in Pin Design
- Winning the Bronze Medal at Nationals in Web Design
- Riley sleeping on the plane coming home
- Riley pounding maple syrup at Nationals
- Soren and NAME REDACTED winning the Gold Medal at Nationals in 3D Animation
- Ryan and Alex winning the Gold Medal at Nationals in Web Design.
- So – lots to compete for here. And here is Trayah holding a purse at recognition night.
- Here is Kyle – when he was just Kyle in CAWD. Now he is a streamer on Twitch with 110+ thousand followers.
- Here is Adam eating ribs in Kansas City at Nationals.
- Pretty nice hotel we were at in KC, and a second.
- This is where they are having the 2022 SkillsUSA National Championships this year – first year in Atlanta!
So anyway, who has the final missing paperwork for Skills – have to turn this in today at the latest. Remember that your edibility impacts your partners eligibility.

11:35 Design Homework 29 Baseline Portrait

We we move into the 4th Quarter we are going to pivot to our 4th quarter Sketching unit of Portraits.

I realize I sound like a broken record, but this is simply what colleges and employers want to see in their applicants. I realize I sound like a broken record, but this is simply what colleges and employers want to see in their applicants.

First – we are going to get the baseline. We want to have a starting point to see what your skills are now. We want to compare what you do this week to what you do in June – a before / after.

Throughout the quarter we will be doing projects to practice:

portrait ratios – there is some math which helps describe how a face is laid out
eyes
noses
mouth
ears
hair

In this first portrait sketch I want you to draw a human from the next up. No body. No headphones. No scene. It can be you, generic persona A, or a celebrity.

Scan and save your file as “(lastName)DH29.jpg” and have ready for next Monday.
