Welcome back, and welcome to Week 28!
Step Up Day was good – but crazy. I don’t know any of those students yet. They made me nervous.
Clean off your desktops, backgrounds can go to something of your choice that CAWD created.
Did you know that we are IN the 4th quarter already? That the 3rd quarter is over? That snuck up on me, so we are going to have some time this morning as we always do to get any missing work for Q3 turned in. Anything late for Q3 must be turned in today by 2 (folder on public / let me know) or the zero’s are zero’s FOREVER.
Some weird wild events this week:
- Starting on Tuesday – so no Critiques this week. I will grade your two projects myself, and these will be your first grades of the 4th Quarter
- NTHS is Wednesday night! NTHS members will have a 1 hour rehearsal for NTHS members tomorrow morning.
- Game Testing for Game Design teams pushed back to 10:45 tomorrow, after NTHS rehearsal.
SkillsUSA Paperwork – need it by this Friday the 25th. Mr. Bohmann is coming in today at 10:45 and we will hand out / go over.

Use the time from now until break to get any missing 3rd Quarter Work turned in. Remember that you have to create a folder on the public, put the work there, AND tell me that you have done this so I know to grade your late work.

I will grade terrible, incomplete projects – maybe even give you a 30, but that is way better than a zero averaged into your gradebook.

If you are fully caught up (most of you are) scroll down to the 11:45 Design Homework and get started, or get started your Week 28 agency. There is always something to be working on.

After some basics, we are going to practice tables by recreating an existing Gran Turismo Table:

11:45 DH28: End of Quarter Final Still Life

As we move to the end of the 3rd quarter I want you to now create a summative still life. This will be a “final still life piece” which could be directly used when applying to colleges and universities (as well as get jobs, as well as just look pretty). Remember that Champlain College’s Game Art and Animation‘s Portfolio Requirements specifically want to see a complete Still Life created with traditional media. Many school swill have similar requirements.

What is required in your final still life?

table / surface for shading to fall on
at least 1 bottle
at least 1 bowl / plate
at least 1 piece of fruit
a consistent light source for shading

These are minimums, you can take them and go as far as you want. Do a great job here so when you start applying for “what is next” in your life you will have the work complete, ready to go.

Sign and date.

Save your file as “lastNameDH28.jpg” and be ready to upload next Monday morning.

This is due in a week, and is part of Quarter 4. If you need to use this time to complete anything missing for Q3 feel free – just remember that you are robbing Peter to pay Paul.
