9:40 Attendance
9:45 Prepping for Visitors
You will notice extra chairs at your stations, these are for the visitors.
First we start with the Visitor form. Make sure your guest fills it out. Tell them about the Tacos.
Remember to show off your best 3 projects as a start:
- Open output / let them wear headphones if need be / let them play your level
- Open the Blender file, Unreal file, Photoshop file, Illustrator file, so you can explain it.
After you show off your work, then move onto teaching them how to:
- Animate? Use Andy?
- Make something in Blender and bring it to Unreal?
- Cut together a short movie in Premiere?
- Draw?
- VR if Eli / Asa want to feature?
- … anything CAWD related is acceptable.
When you are teaching them how to do something make sure that you slide over to the side so they can use their computer.
Remember – none of this.
I am taking them away at 10:45 – welcome our visitors and fill the time. For the end of the presentation once you have done the above activities you can pivot to working on current CAWD work, just don’t ignore them, keep the conversation going. Avoid the awkward silence!
If you don’t have a visitor:
In the public drive there is a file called “wednesdayRigPractice.blend”. Open this file, rig it, and create a basic looping animation using the armatures and Pose mode.
I promise, no scarfs.
By 10:45 create a render called “(lastName).mp4” at 720p and upload to the “wednesdayPassFail” folder. We are presenting right after break. To get credit you must:
- Rig it.
- Adjust weight painting so that we don’t have smearing (if needed)
- Have your mp4 uploaded before I copy the folder by 10:50.
This can be viewport rendered – I care about the rigging and animation over the beauty of the render. Get. It. Done.
10:50 Morning Outside Break (10 minutes)
- 10 Minutes outside / just out our door.
- Throw the Frisbee, toss the football, kick the kickball, or just get some Vitamin D and not be at a desk.
11:00 Wednesday Pass / Fail Presentations
Let’s see what our classmates did while others had visitors.
11:05 Preparing for MMU Visitors
- Shorter visits 25-30 minutes vs. 45 minutes … and you get the same extra credit?
- While not working with the MMU visitors on Thursday / Friday AM, you will be working on rigging your fish (and corals?) as well as creating the 2nd draft of our Pin Design.
- Likely some weird break times as we will have 2 waves of visitors.
- Let’s look at the Thursday Dayplan.
11:15 Blender
- Weight painting a fish.
- Setting up a controller rig for position.
12:15 Lunch (30 Minutes)

- You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.
