Welcome to March and Week 25!
I never even guessed we would have a snow day, but, that happened. I actually was kinda bummed as I forgot to water my plants before vacation.
We have a 3 day week to get back to normal. Here is how things are going to be different:
- I am going to collect your work today and grade it without presentations or critiques. I need to use our short time together this week as best I can. I will grade after school.
- You will have a single project that is due next Monday at the start of class – a Week 25 Agency. There is no Week 25 CAWD/Web Dev project, nor DH. Just a Week 25 Agency. You will have 1 project that is “due” next Monday.
- Thursday and Friday around English will be Skills production. We will review our deliverables tomorrow (but they are posted now for those that want to work today) – with a 12:10 deadline on Friday, March 4th.
- We will start to have our new English teacher for 3 weeks while Mrs. McCadden is out – his name is Mr. Bisson, and he is a Boston Celtics fan.
CTE Applications for next year are due this Friday.
Today in the AM we are going to do a step by step Web Design Review to get everyone back into the swing of things. Have you forgotten everything? That’s ok, we will get you up to speed.
Today is a “White” day for CTE – no academics. Callbacks:

Certain EHS students will have lunch today at 11:55 as (can you believe it?) they are having an early release after a week and a half vacation.

10:00 Web Design Step by Step Review

Today we are going to do a step by step review to get us back into web design. We are going to do all sorts of tasks we were doing before vacation to get us back up to speed. We will:

Create a center channel layout that constrains content to mimic a page, an industry standard layout.
Use Photoshop to prep imagery. Our main goal is consistent image dimensions.
Use a color palette created from an image.
Turn the project in at the end before lunch as part of your T&E grade.

The subject will be Mr. Cronin’s vacation – which was super amazing. I didn’t leave my property for 10 straight days. It was amazing. I will be sharing with you a pile-o-assets to use just as a client may do in the web design world: not really organized, different sizes, no consistent naming structures, and in general random. We will sift through the noise and create a logical final product.
