10:15 CAWD / Web Dev Project: Multi page website
Today you are going to create your first multi page website in CAWD. You are going to create a 4 page website with a topic of your choosing.
Content Requirements:
- Subject up to you. Silly to serious. Can you do this for another class project?
- Imagery and text can be used from the internet
- No need to cite anything – we are not saying that we are writing any of the information, we simply need content. You could even use Lorem Ipsum.
Technical Requirements:
- Use a sans serif font
- Use a center channel layout – put everything in a main, that has a width, and give it a margin of 0 auto
- Consistent use of image sizes throughout the project – use at least 1 image per page
- Use a h1 in an header
- Use of anchor tags in a nav
- Use the a:hover pseudo class to create a roll over effect on your nav links (at a minimum)
- Use an h2 for sub headings page by page
- Each page needs at least 3 paragraphs
- On each of your 4 pages you must have an additional outbound link in the paragraphs
- Make sure you are following web design best practices for all projects going forward:
- Expressive title and alt tags
- Images saved in “images” folder
- All styles in external css file
- Valid code
Create a folder called “multi” and have your first file called “index.html”.
Code up your index.html first, make it perfect and before templatize the projects. Each page needs to have the same layout. If you have to back and change your html/css much after you do your templatizing, then you have to make the same changes on multiple .html pages and that can get very inefficient.
