Class Hours: 9:40 – 2:05
Mr. Cronin
Notes
- Today is a White day – no CTE academic classes.
- Students with an afternoon “B” EHS class need to leave for the day (and lunch) at 11:55.
- Milton, Islands, Georgia, Westford and Essex Town students to take buses are to be released at 1:35pm if still in CAWD, and I am to send your names into the main office where they will follow up with you and your family.
- Remember that we have built in time for our CAWD specific projects in the AM, and the PM can be used for your Agency projects / DH. If you are never here for the afternoons, you will likely need to complete the projects as homework, or get here right at 9:20 and get some extra time to work – but only 8% of our students in CAWD are gone both afternoons. If you work hard while in class, you should be fine.

Members in bold are the Creative Directors. I don’t answer any questions related to the Chess project from anyone except the Creative Director. The CD is the manager of the team, and will be in charge of organization, shepherding the team to success, and answering questions for the team. If there is a question that the CD can’t answer, it can go to me – through the CD. I only talk to the CD.
First the CD’s are to get the teams together. Look at the pieces that have to be built:
- Pawn
- King
- Queen
- Rook
- Bishop
- Knight
- Chessboard
- Optional
- Table?
- Box for pieces?
Using Art supplies and paper from our Depots, the CD is going to organize who is in charge of making what. Sketch out concept art, the general aesthetic, whatever pre production your team needs to know who is creating what.
At the end of this meeting your team should know what they are in charge of producing.
Save all assets into your “week_03” folder inside your Google drive.
When you are ready to submit your assets to your CD, you will place copies on the public drive. Copies. Use the “chess” folder and create your own folders inside as needed.
The CD will put the assets together, do final material and lighting tweaks, and create the final 3 renders. The 3 renders will be called:
- “(cdLastName)Chess_1.jpg” through “(cdLastName)Chess_3.jpg” at 720p.
The CD will turn the work in for the group for our presentations, but all group members should get copies of the final renders for their Portfolio as this a group project.
The Creative Directors are to be in contact with all team members throughout production time this week. Well managed teams tend to do well. Teams and members left on their own, without active communication, tend to do poorly. (I have had teams with little communication end up with 3 Kings created at the end. Oooff).
Get to it! Feel free to move around the room as needed. Please keep the volume reasonable.
12:15 Lunch (30 Minutes)
- No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
- You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.
