9:45 Taking Care of Business
Like a good professional, we are going to stay on top of communications. Monday is mail day. Use this time to open up, review, respond and delete or archive any mail you are done with. Email is the way professionals communicate in the workplace (at least for now).
9:50 Making the Most of Masks
Last week we did a quick exercise with masking. Masking is a powerful way to create and animate with Motion Graphics. This morning, let’s practice a little more with tools for Masks.
- Creating Masks – basic properties
- Mask properties
- Transforming and animating masks
Let’s start with some basics to create a simple reveal.

11:35 Week Four Project: Compositing with Masks
Vocabulary Alert: Compositing
Compositing is bringing two or more picture elements together to make a single image.
Compositing can be done with video by combining still images, graphics and video along with color corrections, special effects, etc… to create a seamless composite.
Using Pexels, or some of the images you have been shooting with your camera. Create your very own composite adding masks and animation.
This is a chance to experiment and playaround with the mask properties. I’ll circle around to help.

12:45 Motion Sketching
A really easy way to animate objects, text, shapes is to use motion sketching and motion smoothing.
Also an easy way to get a glitch effect without struggling through keyframes.
