10:05 – 10:35 Audio & Modeling Blitz

In the Community Assets folder is an Audio Folder. Let’s go out and get some sounds that we might want.

Your task is to find a variety of sound effects – rename the file so that we know exactly what the sound is. (example, bottlebreak.mp3)

After you find a selection of at least 3 sounds, continue working on your Asset Models. If you are done, you can continue storyboarding. If you need to know what to load – take a look at Marcou’s Files.

3D Visualization & Animation Link to PDF

This is a two-person team event. Contestants must produce high quality images and an animated short subject using 3D computer-generated images. Students are evaluated on their technical knowledge, production skills and creative abilities – including visual development and storyboarding.

Interactive Application and Video Game Development Link to PDF

Open to a team of two. For this contest, teams will create their product in advance of the competition. On the day of the competition, students will present their game to a judge or judges and discuss game play, mechanics and other discussion prompts. Having a strong communicator on the team is critical.

Web Design and Development Link to PDF

Teams of two will complete a series of challenges focusing on website usability and accessibility, design and layout. For the state competition, teams will be presented with a web design and development task (rebuild of a local site) on the day of the competition and complete the project in one day. Participants will need a good background in HTML / CSS and have strong organizational skills.
