10:45 Critiques
Today Granger will be giving Constructive Criticism. Pick 1 thing that works, and 1 thing to improve upon next time. Remember we are separating the Design from the Designer. We are looking for actionable input.
Remember that Constructive Criticism can sometimes be subjective… on art which is also subjective. You don’t have to agree with the Constructive Criticism, but you have to hear it without getting defensive.
Tomorrow St. Pierre will be giving the Constructive Criticism.
11:30 Bedroom Production Bonus Time
Due to to crazy week – no school Friday, and our CAWD Open House THIS Thursday night showing off our Bedroom – we are going to get a bit extra time this morning for Bedroom production.
12:10 DH6: Fall
We are fast approaching what may be the apogee of the fall foliage season in Vermont. This week I want you to take the next page of your sketchbook and draw “Fall” – what it means to you, how would you visualize it? Don’t overthink this – when you think of Vermont in the fall, what is the first thing you think of?
Fall will be thought of differently for different people; that is what makes this interesting.
Someone may have an idea of harvest, and be helping family get crops in.
Others may be one to hike in the woods and take in the colors of the fall, the leaves changing to reds, oranges, and yellows.
Some may think of baking pumpkin pies with their Grandma.
Some may think of apple picking.
Some may think of fall sports, like a Friday night field hockey game with your friends.
Some think of pumpkins and jackolanterns.
Some may think of the picturesque white church steeple popping out of the woods.
Some may think of Halloween and costumes and parties.
Cider / hunting season / farm equipment / tourists / sweaters … when you think of the fall – what do you think of? Create that.
Consider going outside into nature and sketching, get inspired, get outside!
Nobody wants to see your Halloween skin in your game. Get. Outside.
Color required.
This is due next Monday, saved as “(lastName)DH6.jpg“.
