Today Mayhew will be giving Constructive Criticism. Pick 1 thing that works, and 1 thing to improve upon next time. Remember we are separating the Design from the Designer. We are looking for actionable input.

Remember that Constructive Criticism can sometimes be subjective… on art which is also subjective. You don’t have to agree with the Constructive Criticism, but you have to hear it without getting defensive.

11:25 CAWD Project: File Formats

This week you are going to create a website that works with and describes some of the most common formats on the internet.

You will create a website with 4 pages:

• jpg (index.html)
• png
• gif
• svg

On each of these 4 pages you are going to explain some of the characteristics of each, in your own words, include an example of the file type that you create, and an example of the file type that you download and use.

You will also define the acronym and give a link to the Wikipedia page for that format so we can get more information.

Finally we will tell the type of compression – lossy vs lossless – for each.

Technical requirements

• Designed with Responsive Design. Your work will be evaluated on mobile or desktop. You don’t know which until I roll the D20 at presentations.
• Navigation setup with nav using flex. Use flex-direction to adapt your interface from left to right on desktop, to vertical on mobile.

Create a folder called “formats” and your entire project will go into this folder for presentation.
