Mr. Cronin

Notes

  • Happy Monday! Welcome to Week 24! Let’s all make our folders…
  • 5 days of school:
    • Monday – Normal
    • Tuesday – Normal
    • Wednesday – Skills
    • Thursday – Skills
    • Friday – Game Day
  • Game Day planning. Aiden and Dylan, take over. I am going to bring Oatmeal Raisin Cookies – my wife makes the best. I won’t be going to the store, but someone else can volunteer, or we can all just bring in food. I will have the classroom ready to go.
  • Due to our crazy week we are not going to have an agency project this week. You of course can start one now for future weeks. Today you may also have some extra time to work on Skills work (Game Teams specifically – racing toward Beta testing).
  • I don’t think we are going to do Critiques today due to scheduling, so we will have Last Looks all the way up to 11:30. It is odd, but it is what it is.
    • Get everything perfect for on-time work
    • Get missing work ready for Wednesday – remember you have to be fully caught up to relax Friday
  • We will have 3 visitors today. As always start with the form.
    • Zander (10-10:30)
    • Tobi (10-10:30)
    • Megan (11-11:30)

11:30 DH24: Cup & Saucer

This week we are going to create a cup & saucer. This project extends our wine / glass work with many curved edges and shapes to visualize.

This week we are going to reference two Circle Line Art School tutorials. You can use any tutorial you wish, so long as you end with a cup & saucer. In both of these he talks the first half, with some nice music the second half where you can watch him create.

Really start hearing what the artist is saying to do, and think about how you can not only use that in your cup & saucer, but how can you incorporate that into all of your sketch work.

Here is a 10 minute resource.

Her is a 17 minute resource:

Save your file as (lastName)DH24.jpg.

Skills Game Teams make progress toward Beta testing!

2:20 Dailies

2:25 “19 Minutes”

4 of 5 days per week we will end our day in CAWD with the “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:

  • Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
  • Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
  • Unplug

At 2:44 each day I will come to 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened in your story over that day’s reading session. It is neat to hear little pockets of a story, here and there.

2:45 Dismissal
