10:10 Flexbox Powered Gallery
This week you are going to feature one of your 3D models in a portfolio gallery. We want to show off your work and we have to be able to present it to the world in an attractive manner. To create this gallery you will first:
- You will create 6 full sized renders of your model in Blender.
- You will create 6 thumbnails of your full sized images. All Thumbnail images must be the same size! I recommend 200×200 for today as this is the size we have been working with so far.
Create a folder called “gallery” inside “week_23” and create your project with the following requirements.
Requirements:
- File called “index.html” inside of the project folder.
- 6 thumbnail images created as portions of 6 full sized renders. No stretching or squashing, use Photoshop.
- Use of Flexbox to center the gallery (similar to above), and use the controls we have used to ensure we don’t have horizontal or vertical scroll bars – at any size.
- Gallery images should have lower opacity.
- Rollovers should be “brighter” (full opacity) as well as slightly larger.
- Each gallery image will should link to the full sized version of that image. Look back to the code that we used yesterday for our image formats h1’s if you get stuck:
- Yesterday our <a> tag surrounded the H1 with the SRC attribute pointing to Wikipedia
- Today our <a> tag will surround the thumbnail image with the SRC attribute pointing to the full size image.
- All 12 images (6 thumbs +6 full size images) go in your “images” folder.
- All styles in external CSS file (from now on, always do this).
- All images in images folder (from now on, always do this).
- Valid HTML5 code.
