Hi all – I am out with a sick family member today. You will have an Adobe Illustrator project (see below) that has to be completed and emailed to me by the end of the day today for grade. I will be grading this project Thursday morning before I see you (maybe even Wednesday night), and entering in the gradebook.

To review – you have to complete the project and email me the final jpg by 2pm TODAY. You have 4 hours. If I don’t get your work, you get a zero.

  • There could be more – but I am writing this at 5AM. Do your best.
• Today we will have 4 visitors working with us from 10:30 to 11. These visitors will work with:
  • Aiden
  • Peyton
  • Lee
  • Phoenix
  • Start with our form (top of resource section) – and then we will practice some character rigging.
  • Show them your work, give them a quick 30 minute tour of your best projects.
• Late break to accommodate our visitors.

10:10 Wednesday Vector Animal created in Illustrator (emailed to me today!)

Your project today is going to be creating a vector animal in Illustrator. Just like we worked on the tent, and the canoe, and the taco – you are going to find a reference image (sketch or photo) and then create that animal in Illustrator.

Your workflow:

1. Find a reference image / sketch / use one you already have.
2. Use File->Place to “place” the reference image in Illustrator – just like yesterday.
3. Use different layers, shape tools, the pen tool to create your animal.
4. Lock layers to focus on different elements one at a time.
5. Hide the reference image before you save your final project.

By 2:00pm today save your animal as lastNameAnimal.jpg and email me the file at mcronin@ewsd.org.

For example my file would be:

Remember that I am going be grading this late Wednesday / early Thursday morning before you arrive. This will be an extra graded project for this week – due today.
