Good Morning – I got hit pretty hard with a sinus cold, compounded by allergies. You’ve got a sub today and Mr. Cronin is at the ready is case you’ve got a big question that needs answering. I intend to be back tomorrow

Miah – Please update the class on Spirit Week

Take a look at your mail this morning. Look in spam – Anything from Vermont Highway Safety Alliance?

Breakout Games are due on Wednesday. Help each other. Develop a nice game. Remember invoke and instantiate from last week? Could be a fun way to do power ups, bonus lives, animated aliens, etc…. You are a game developer, have fun with it.

10:10 Breakout –

Continue working on your breakout game. You are good if you have:

  • One Level
  • Custom pixel art for your blocks and game design
  • A Score
  • A win condition (clear all the bricks)
  • A lose condition (hit the killbox and lose a turn or health goes to zero)

Your game is even better if you have:

  • Sound ! (there are several approaches – here’s one)
  • A title screen (we’ll create this on Tuesday)
  • Invoke or Instanitiate something

11:50 Breakout Game Testing

It’s time to test you game with some others to gather feedback. Use this small window of time today to test your game with others in the class. You are testing paddle movement speed, ball speed, difficulty, smoothness of the ball bouncing, etc….. This is a chance to get some real feedback, then make improvements.
