10:10am Domain Name Server – How a web address works

Now that you know a little more about what lies behind a Domain Name. Let’s investigate how to purchase a domain name from a few reputable providers.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is an encryption security protocol that is used to secure an internet connection by encrypting data sent between a website and a browser. This is an especially important item to have if you are taking methods of payment or passing sensitive data. I think all sites should pony up for an SSL certificate. It makes your site a little more legit.

Web Host – or a web hosting service provider, is a business that stores your website information on their special computers or servers (to put it in basic terms). In most cases a web host will also provide a domain name to you as well. There are other additional options that a web host may provide like subdomains, business emails

Creating a CSS Grid Image Gallery with text overlay

You might be interested in an image gallery for your portfolio.

Using some of our previous learning, let’s tackle a little co-coding project where we will see absolute positioning, CSS Grid, pseudo classes and transitions all working together for an attractive and useful image gallery with a text overlay.
