10:10 Ball Bounce Demo – Review

Key points from yesterday include the graph editor and the dopesheet. We’ll used a control to move the ball. This will makes animation easier and allows us control over the ball rotation

Some shortcut keys you may find helpful:

  • Control + Tab to move back and forth from the dope editor to the graph sheet
  • Shift + H to hide parts of the graph editor
  • Home – to frame up your camera in the workspace or to see the whole timeline / graph editor
  • V to look at the handles in the graph editor
  • Control + Middle Mouse to scale graph editor and dope sheet

To earn an A for this assignment, do your homework. Your words, more than cut and paste. Assignment is in Google Classroom. Investigate, learn, share.

BTW – I used ChatGPT to look up a job. So easy to cut and paste and not really read the results. Be sure you answer thoroughly the questions on the worksheet. I want to know what you think.

10:50 Break

11:00 Box Modeling Practice – A Simple Bird

Let’s get back to Blender and use a box modeling approach to create a simple bird that we’ll use for a future animation that we’ll be building next week. Don’t worry about the rest of the scene.

We’ll use a subdivision surface modifier and some loop cuts to make our bird. The difference between a truly outstanding modeler and a good one is in the details.

Make a Quarter 3 Folder on Google Drive.

With time that is remaining, use to work on your Ball Animation – see assignment from yesterday. Ask for help if you need it.
