Monday, September 20th

Monday, September 20th

Class Hours: 9:40 – 2:05
Mr. Cronin

Notes

  • Welcome to Week 5. Remember the CTE / CAWD Open House for this Thursday has been postponed due to Covid.
  • Some neat Blender effects from advanced users.
  • Any interest on the Student Leadership / Student Council opportunity? The realities are:
    • Is it extra socialization and effort to take part? Yes.
    • Does it take away from CAWD time, giving you less time for projects? A bit, yes, if I am honest. The schedule said every other week, and you would have to get lunch at 11:25 for an 11:30 meeting…
    • Does it look great for colleges and resumes, showing leadership positions? Yes.
    • Will it it improve your overall abilities to communicate with others, better preparing you for the real world? Yes.
    • Will it give you free college and unlimited burritos? YES!
    • See me if interested!
  • We have a meeting in the room tomorrow that starts at 8:30, it may be done at 9:20, it may not be, when the doors are open we are done. Please don’t knock over and over.

  • DH4 – Bedroom Layout
    • “(lastName)DH4.jpg”
  • Student Agency Project (Blender)

11:35 Sketch Lesson

Last week we looked at top view room layouts, this week we will create at orthographic versions of the same room.

11:45 DH5: Orthographic Bedroom Sketch

This week I want you to draw 2 smaller sketches on the next page of your sketchbook as DH5, to complete an Orthographic representation of your Bedroom:

  • Side
  • Front

This will go with your Bedroom Layout (the top view) to complete the set. Remember it is all about Portfolios and creating a logical flow of pre-production and concept art before the digital project to demonstrate your value as a designer to great colleges, great employers, and great Grandma’s.

Let’s say that the overall level of detail can be less as you are drawing 2 smaller sketches (each 50% of the page), but color is still required and it should match up to your Bedroom Layout sketch presented today. I need DH4 and DH5 to almost be a single project when presented to Pixar.

12:15 Lunch (30 Minutes)

  • No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
  • You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.
