  • Friday! Everyone have a great weekend – remember that it will be very very cold, so make sure you take care of yourselves, family, pets, animals, etc.
  • We will get into our GAWD / GAWD2 Rube Goldberg machine next week – the focus today is getting your 2 deliverables as good as you can.
    • The top 2 teams will go head to head with the judge.
    • The judge will watch the 30 second trailer before they play. Then play.
    • This will determine who gets the choice seats and dual monitors.

10:05 Attendance and Article

10:10 Game Development Teams and Week 17 and Week 18 Assignment

Final day of production!

Ensure that you have fixed and addressed any concerns in your project feedback (Thursday Dayplan).

Make sure you and your partner are hitting the specifics found in the deliverables. I would hate / love for the “best” game be knocked off the pedestal due to not paying attention to the project specifics.

10:50 Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00 Game Development Teams and Week 17 and Week 18 Assignment

11:35 1984

Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) is a dystopian novel by George Orwell that explores totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and the manipulation of truth through the story of Winston Smith in the superstate of Oceania, ruled by the omnipresent Party and its figurehead, Big Brother.

Read along with Mr. Cronin. Improve literacy, word decoding, enjoy a nice story, and unplug from the world.

  • You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

2:20 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:

  • Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
  • Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
  • Unplug

At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.

2:40 Dismissal
