Class Hours: 10:05 – 2:40
Mr. Cronin
Notes
- Welcome to Week 12! Let’s all make our folders now.
- A bit of a different AM this morning since I want to capture Tom’s input before he heads out. We will look at all your work, just in a slightly different order.
- WCAX Field Trip Thursday
- We will need to be back in CAWD at 12:10.
- English will be abridged, and end at 11:40 – go to lunch right from English.
- We are being picked up from WCAX at 2:00, so as you can imagine, you won’t be getting to your afternoon class on time. Let’s email the impacted teachers right now with the following message.
- “Hi Ms. ______ / Mr. _________, I will be on a CAWD /@CTE Field Trip on Thursday afternoon to WCAX learning about careers. We will return about 2:30 or so. I wanted to let you know ahead of time and see if there is anything I need to make up. I have included Mr. Cronin’s email if you have questions. Thank you.“
- Then in the CC for email write my email.
- This will impact:
- MJ, Isaiah, Adrian, Jacob only I think.
- The rest are in CAWD and should be good to go already.

10:30 Micro Story First Draft Screenings
We will start by watching everyone’s animation once.
Then we will watch it a second time.
Then we will fill out this input form for feedback while we watch your project on loop, but muted.
Tomorrow morning I will be sharing EVERYONE’s feedback with EVERYONE. Learn what others think of your work. At the same time, your feedback will be public, so you want to make it actionable and direct.
The final question with a star rating will be calculated and the class average shown, but I won’t put individual star ratings public. This allows you to give an honest rating without feeling the pressure. Nobody will know.

11:30 Critiques (FOR THE AGENCY AND DH11)
Each week we will upload our work on Monday as a class. I will then present your work to the class. Every week we will pick a new student to proactive giving constructive criticism. Constructive criticism is a type of feedback that offers specific and actionable advice to help employees to improve. In the professional setting we need to be to talk professionally about the work, even if you don’t “love” the person who created it.
If selected, you will pick 1 thing that works, and 1 thing to improve upon next time. Remember we are separating the Design from the Designer. We are looking for actionable input.
11:50 2 Point Perspective
- 2 vanishing points? What is this madness? Just wait until 3 vanishing points.
12:15 DH11: 10 Floating Boxes in 2 Point Perspective
As we are starting with 2 Point perspective, first we will work on the basics. Similar to what we did with 1 Point perspective, we will create 10 floating boxes now using 2 Point perspective.
Save your file as lastNameDH_12.jpg.
Any extra time we will use for production on Final Draft, Agency, and DH.
12:25 Lunch
- No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
- You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

2:15 Dailies
2:20 “19 Minutes”
4 of 5 days per week we will end our day in CAWD with the “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At 2:39 each day I will come to 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened in your story over that day’s reading session. It is neat to hear little pockets of a story, here and there.
