Game Design

Week 21 Deliverable (this week)

Use OBS to demonstrate the following deliverables:

  • Need placeholder starting screen with start button UI. This start button gets us to level 2.
  • Level 1 built with Gray Box Art. The level design should be interesting to explore even built with basic gray box assets.
  • Level 2 built with Grey Box Art. Again, design interesting to explore with. Getting to Level 2 can be done programmatically (key bind) or editing together form different OBS recordings.

Make sure if you want eligibility for the “A” we cut out all evidence of OBS or other screen recording software.

Call your file gameStudioNameWeek21.mp4.

This Skills Game Design weekly deliverable is due tomorrow at 11 AM.

Week 22 Deliverable (next week)

This week is all about getting your Main Mechanic working in your Gray Box levels.

Agent Flea

  • Defeating enemies that are spawning in waves.

Sightless Studios

  • Hack n’ slash combat. Collecting fragments.

Greywood Studios

  • Puzzles

Use OBS to demonstrate the main mechanics that were found in your GDD. Call your file gameStudioNameWeek22.mp4.

  • Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
  • Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
  • Unplug

At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
