  • Remember we have an upcoming 3 day weekend!
  • No Pass Fail / No Adobe AM this week because:
    • Team based game production.
    • Mr. Bohmann is coming in Friday from 11 – lunch to run a workshop on Sculpting – which will lead to a required sculpted element in your Team game.
  • New Book! Moscow is complete; 1984 will begin today.
  • Remember that we end up in English after lunch!

10:05 Attendance and Article

10:10 Game Development Teams and Week 17 and Week 18 Assignment

We are starting each day with a meeting at the CD’s desk to go over the GDD

  • Gather round the CD’s machine to review the GDD.
  • Update the GDD – (we will be opening and looking at at the Big Board). What does the CD need done?
  • Start constant communication with your team members throughout the day.

Once you have done this move on to individual production, but keep talking and keep the conversation going. You should be in a low density conversation constantly with your partner for the next week and a bit.

*** I have decided to bestow an extra benefit to the game design teams. The team that ends up with the best overall game will decide (along with Piche) where they want to sit in the 3rd Quarter, as well as get dual monitors. ***

10:50 Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00 Game Development Teams and Week 17 and Week 18 Assignment

11:35 1984

Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) is a dystopian novel by George Orwell that explores totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and the manipulation of truth through the story of Winston Smith in the superstate of Oceania, ruled by the omnipresent Party and its figurehead, Big Brother.

Read along with Mr. Cronin. Improve literacy, word decoding, enjoy a nice story, and unplug from the world.

  • You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

2:20 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:

  • Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
  • Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
  • Unplug

At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
