11:00 VR Stations -> Normal Locations

In this final component of our VR unit, we are going to put things “back to normal”.
Computers – all must be put back, setup, cables looking attractive, and turned on to the desktop.
VR Kits / Bins – all stay together in single bin. Leave at your desks for now.
Desks / Chairs – stay where they are for now.
We will be revamping the room for the State SkillsUSA Design Competitions in April, so this is just to get through Step Up Day next next Thursday.
11:30 Flexbox Froggy

Load up Flexbox Froggy, an online game built in the browser that gets you practicing flexbox.
Each level has a coding challenge to solve. This will test your skills – we have from now to lunch to work on this. The challenges really get you working as a coder, thinking about logic. Some will finish faster than others, and that is OK, no worries. We may even lean on a couple of the hot shots to help others out.
When you have finished you will see a success screen – raise your hand and show this screen to me for credit!
When complete move on to your Revised Mini Portfolio with flexbox.
11:55 Revised Mini Portfolio with flexbox

This week we are going to take our Week 23 Mini Portfolio and add flexbox usage. We will often add and revise projects, keep track of what code you edited on which asset will be key to this revision.
Take your project and copy into your Week 24 folder called miniPortfolioFlex. Update each page so that:
- You now have a center channel look and feel. Remember that means we give our containers widths and use margin:0 auto; to center.
- You now have a header at the top with a logo and text combo. Create a logo (200 x 200?), and use flex on the header. (have left to right on desktop, and vertical on mobile)
- You now have a nav with your links, and use flex to evenly distribute them across the nav. Use flex on the nav.
- You now have a footer at the end with your contact info use flex to evenly distribute them across the nav. Use flex on the footer. Lets say name, high school, state (have left to right on desktop, and vertical on mobile)
Just like before, we never want to see a horizontal scroll bar again.
Using flex, make sure the header, nav, and footer adapt to a small screen size through use of the media query and the different flex properties that make the site more vertical.
12:25 Lunch

- No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
- You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

1:00 Steve Jobs

Based on more than forty interviews with Steve Jobs conducted over two years–as well as interviews with more than 100 family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues–Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur
Read along with Mr. Cronin. Improve literacy, word decoding, enjoy a nice story, and unplug from the world.

2:15 Dailies

2:20 “19 Minutes”

4 of 5 days per week we will end our day in CAWD with the “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At 2:39 each day I will come to 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened in your story over that day’s reading session. It is neat to hear little pockets of a story, here and there.
2:40 Dismissal
