10:10 Client Work image prep and Land Page

We are going to be doing client work for the CTE Residential Building Program.
Step 1 is let’s put something up as a Coming Soon – beyond the “Hey Chris” message. We will do this through a temporary landing page.
Let’s start with the original image (given to the client by a long retired graphic designer who can’t be contacted) and make the best of what we have with the logo. We will save an untouched before hand to have when we undoubtedly have to go back to the original. It happens – it’s fine, just have a backup.
Let’s first prep the image and create a landing page.
10:50 Morning Break

11:00 Critiques

Each week we will upload our work on Monday. I will then present your work to the class. Each project I will pick a student to practice giving constructive criticism. Constructive criticism is a type of feedback that offers specific and actionable advice to help employees to improve. In the professional setting we need to be to talk professionally about the work, even if you don’t “love” the person who created it.
If selected, you will pick 1 thing that works, and 1 thing to improve upon next time. Remember we are separating the Design from the Designer. We are looking for actionable input.
11:20 Wireframe for Residential Building Program

- Sawyer! You have been volunteered by 5 youths to be our Wireframe Artist today.
- Wyatt! You have been volunteered (by Sawyer? Who knows at this point) to lead the design discussion. We are going to act like Wyatt and the class are the Web Dev, and I am the client.
- We are going to have a conversation and build the Wireframe for the RBP.
- The ART that is drawn by Sawyer right now (discussion led by Wyatt) will end up being the wireframe that we all have to use – so make sure you are engaged in the discussion.

2:20 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
