10:10 GAWD Project: Multi Level Functionality
This week we are going to start keeping track of collectables in our Game Instance (that persists between levels) and depending on total collectables we are going to jump to the next level (after 3 collectables), and then quit the game at the end (after 6 collectables).
You are going to save your Game World as two separate levels to start. For example:
- level_1
- level_2
Open each up and setup the player start locations so that they make sense. The player start for level_1 should be the most intro start of the game (beyond the menu). The player start for level_2 will be in an inaccessible area from level_1. Such as the sky, behind a gate, etc.
Using your Game Instance, keep track of how many collectables you collect. When you have collected 3 collectables I want you to jump from level_1 to level_2, where the collection continues.
Once you get to level_2, once you have collected 3 more collectables (for a total of 6) have the game quit back to the editor.
Document this through an OBS recording (no OBS interface if you want the A) called multiLevelGame.mp4. Make this between 30 and 45 seconds at most. If you have to go way beyond that, lets talk about the situation.
When recording using OBS remember to hold the camera at some points so we can really “see” what you are showing us. Don’t be jiggling and panning the camera constantly.

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
