  • Thursday – weird wild schedule so former student and Game Dev Peyton (made this game) can come in and get some user testing on a game he is developing (not that game). Due to hosting him at 11 we are going to have Prep and OM&TS in the first AM session. Just going to roll with whatever.
  • Friday – my wife is a big shot engineer presenting at a Bike / Pedestrian conference and I have the kids and you will have a sub.

Wednesday’s we will have our Midweek Morning Meetings.

You and I will meet 1:1 and we can:

• See what you are missing for assignments
• Go over the previous weeks T&E grades
• Go over anything you are pretty confused about so I can review

When not meeting with me – I want you working on Production.

11:00 Client Work for Residential Building Technology

This week we are going to start working for RBT. As of now we have gone from the proof of concept of the purchase to a landing page.

Step 1

• Go through your WordPress install and change all branding to Residential Building Technology at CTE
• Go through the Media Library and purge old assets, we just don’t need them.
• Install and Activate Twenty Twenty Five Theme.

Step 2

• Create a website with the following pages / navigation:
  1. Home
  2. Updates
  3. Homesite
  4. Community
  5. Program
• In the heading at the top we will use a tightened up version of their logo.
• Create the structure of the website following the following wireframe:

Step 3

Populate the pages with fill content so client can see first drafts. Other than the main areas (logo, links) we are going to use Lorem Ipsum this week. You can copy and paste Lorem from VS Code, or you can use one of the billion Lorem Ipsum Generators out there. Let’s say to be eligible for the A or the B you have to use a Lorem Ipsum Generator for this weeks site content.

We are really focusing on the Site Wireframe / Structure itself this week. Next week we will do page specific updates.

  • Image and Quote (will both be replaced). Find an image from UnSplash, and use Lorem Ipsum for a quote and give citation (also Lorem)
• Updates
  • Image, paragraph, and list explaining the paragraph
  • Image should be construction related from UnSplash.
  • Lorem.
• Homesite
  • Take the update format above (Image, Paragraph, and list) and make at least 3 of these stacked updates. The newer on the top. You can use the first update, and then give us 2 more with 2 different images. Try to switch the words out or their order so it looks more natural.
• Community
  • Fill with headings, lists, and paragraphs, and images that show off community service projects.
  • Use at least 1 image of high school students building something with power tools. More than 1 ok, don’t go more than 3.
• Program
  • Fill with headings, lists, and paragraphs, and images. This is the info that will end up there in time. For the time being you can just throw in Lorem Ipsum, but I wanted to show you. Make what you create dense and realistic looking. Don’t give me a single heading and paragraph and expect the A or B, we are showing these live to the clients, you don’t want to look derp.

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:

• Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
• Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
• Unplug

At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
