11:15 Luxo Jr inspired Walk Cycle

This week we are going to work on our Walk Cycle using our Luxo inspired lamp. The goal is a realistic animation in a realistic world – with a lamp that is alive sure but just roll with it.
Use multi map materials to help give your scene a sense of reality.
You will have the chance this week to choose 3 tracks to choose from:
- basic (max at an 85)
- standard (max at 95)
- extended skills (extra credit – max at a 105)
To be eligible to earn an 85 at a maximum (Solo lamp):
- Animate your lamp moving across the screen in one direction – have at least 5 jumps.
- Sound Design for realism.
- Save your file as lastNameWalkCycle85.mp4
To be eligible to earn a 95 at a maximum (2 lamps):
- Animate your lamp moving across the screen in one direction – have at least 5 jumps.
- Animate a “little brother”, smaller lamp following making smaller jumps. As the jumps are smaller you may have to have more.
- Sound Design for realism.
- Save your file as lastNameWalkCycle95.mp4
To be eligible to earn a 105 at a maximum (extra credit):
- Create a story that includes 2 lamps and at least 5 jumps for each character.
- Use multiple camera angles.
- Sound Design for realism.
- Save your file as lastNameWalkCycle105.mp4
Regardless of the option you choose make sure you think about the 12 Principles of Animation, specifically:
- Anticipation and Follow through
- Exaggeration
11:35 Lunch

- No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
- You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

1:25 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
