Stephen we have to get you signed in and downloading / installing Unreal Engine so we can start using it next week. First thing to do is make an account, I can’t do that for you, but then I can walk you through the process the rest of us did.
Today is a great day to turn missing work in!
Today we are having our Divergent Diamond Presentation from the Vermont Agency of Transportation. This is the new intersection near Costco that is all over the news, that had the Driving Simulator built for local drivers to get practice before they tried it for real. From what I have heard this was built in our GAWD1 Game Engine (Unreal Engine), so it should be another opportunity to see how our classwork can be turned into careers.
- Plan on having screens off and being a good audience.
- The second half of the session will get students time to try the simulator.
- Due to this we aren’t having dailies or EOD reading, we are just going to roll with it and adapt and be flexible.

Go over the previous weeks T&E grades
Go over anything you are pretty confused about so I can review

When not meeting with me – I want you working on Production.

10:50 Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00 Blender Pass Fail

Create a text animation that follows the following flow:
- Nothing on screen
- First name animates on screen / holds / animates of screen
- Nothing on on screen
- Last name animates on screen / holds / animates of screen
- Nothing on screen

When complete render out your animation as lastNamePF.mp4 and upload to the passFail folder on the Public Drive. We will look at your animation on the Big Board, check you off, and then you move to production.

11:15 Literal Visualization Animations

Take each of your Design Homework Storyboards (4 cells for each word) and create the animations (2 separate animations and files) that represents that word using that word. If doing Pop for example as Ellie is, they will create the word Pop using text in Blender. The text you create in Blender and animate will be the star of the show.

At least 1 sound effect required for each animation – as we are getting better in Premiere make sure the audio sounds nice, use different audio effects and fades to make sure we can hear the sound, it doesn’t sound cutoff, etc.

Each file will include the name of the word you are animating – just as in the Design Homework’s:

lastNameWord.mp4 (the first word you are doing, for example croninFloat.mp4)
lastNameWord.mp4 (the second word you are doing, for example croninSpin.mp4)

Remember that your animation needs to match up to your Pre-production Storyboard – we will look at Storyboards before we watch animations, and have them both on screen at a point so we can see if you did what you said you were going to do.
