10:10 Midweek Morning Meetings

Wednesday’s we will have our Midweek Morning Meetings.

You and I will meet 1:1 and we can:

  • See what you are missing for assignments
  • Go over the previous weeks T&E grades
  • Go over anything you are pretty confused about so I can review

When not meeting with me – I want you working on Production.

Turning in missing work

  • Create folder on public drive that is your last name.
  • Upload work there with correct file names.
  • Let me know. Only letting me know that day when you have uploaded the work will I know to merge your work into the entire classes, and then grade it.

10:50 Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00 Premiere

  • Ken Burns
  • Sound Manipulation / Basic
  • Audition install before lunch we pivot?

11:30 Animatic of Waking Up

An animatic is a preliminary, rough draft of an animated film or video, created by editing together storyboard images with sound to visualize the timing, flow, and camera angles before final animation begins. It helps filmmakers test the story, ensure everyone on the team is on the same page, and identify potential issues with the narrative or pacing, ultimately saving time and resources during the production process.

This week you are going to take the “Waking Up” Storyboard and turn it into an Animatic.

Here is what you will do:

Choose from the folder of submitted animatics on the public drive. You can use anyone’s but your own.

You can always use your own for an Agency.

Using the Ken Burns Effect, creative editing, and sounds – create the animatic of the 4 cells.

You are the Animatic Editor – if you need to tweak timing so that it “works”, that is ok, but you can only use someone else’s art and ideas for sounds. Getting close to the 4 cells of the Storyboard Artist is the key.

Save your file as lastNameAnimatic.mp4.

11:35 Lunch

  • No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
  • You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

12:05 Attendance and Article

12:10 Blender

Lets take 30 minutes and get some practice recreating the basics of the Millennium Falcon escaping Tatooine.

Super basic, but gives us practice with keyframes and camera switching. All about learning, not about final product right now.

Let’s see if we can get to:

  • Auto-keying animation – this is like juggling with gasoline and a lighter. Can be really fun until it isn’t.
  • Basic Blocking of action
  • 2 camera shots with switching
  • Viewport Rendering wireframe & solid
  • Combining in Premiere

12:40 A Gentleman in Moscow

A Gentleman in Moscow is a reader’s dream — a wonder-full, nuanced story full of wit, insight, and imagination.

Read along with Mr. Cronin. Improve literacy, word decoding, enjoy a nice story, and unplug from the world.

1:00 Afternoon Break (15 minutes)

1:15 Afternoon Practice & Production

Week 3 Agency

  • lastNameAgency_1.jpg through lastNameAgency_3.jpg

1:20 Dailies

1:25 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:

  • Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
  • Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
  • Unplug

At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
