10:10 Gallery Corner

This week in GAWD I want you to build a gallery corner. Not a full gallery, but a section of it – some would say… a corner.
Think about the new ways we have used lighting, materials, and everything else you have practiced so far.
In terms of what needs to be IN the gallery – we need to see:
- 3 pieces of art that are images (download images from the internet / use your art / etc)
- 2 sculptures (Append something you have made and append it in? Make something quick on a plinth?)
- Have in a enclosed corner structure with walls, floor, and ceiling.
Append in the Human for scale reference, but let’s see if we can make this more realistic – so don’t show the human in the final renders. YES use it for scale of walls, doors, etc, just remove / hide the human for the final renders.
When complete, create 3 renders called lastNamGallery_1.jpg through lastNamGallery_3.jpg.
At this point – all 3 of your GAWD projects have been assigned. They will all be due next Monday at the start of class.
10:25 GAWD gets their Photos taken

- Head to Cosmo 2
- When complete (both GAWD and GAWD2) we will start our break – listen for instructions on the walk back. Your break will START from where photos are being taken.
10:?? Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00? Gallery Corner

Work and save!
11:35 A Gentleman in Moscow

Imagine being sentenced to spend your life inside a luxury hotel. In A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, Count Alexander Rostov faces exactly that. Trapped in Moscow’s Metropol Hotel after the Russian Revolution, he builds unexpected friendships and watches history unfold outside. The novel asks an important question: Can you still build a meaningful life when your freedom is taken away?
A class read-along gives us a chance to slow down, disconnect from screens, and get lost in a great book together. As we read, you’ll naturally build your vocabulary, strengthen your reading skills, and experience a story.
11:55 Lunch

- No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
- You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

2:20 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.
2:40 Dismissal
