10:10 Midweek Morning Meetings

Wednesday’s we will have our Midweek Morning Meetings.

You and I will meet 1:1 and we can:

  • See what you are missing for assignments
  • Go over the previous weeks T&E grades
  • Go over anything you are pretty confused about so I can review

When not meeting with me – I want you working on Production.

10:50 Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00 Images on the internet / how to leverage them in a Responsive Web Design

This week we we will continue by using some new file formats, all while displaying your information in a Responsive Web Design with multiple breakpoints.

I am fully aware and support using AI to get and learn this information quickly and easily if you choose to go that way. I want you to put your eyes on the info and get hands on practice with you using the tech.

Technical Requirements

  • folder called lastNameFileFormats
  • Make sure that you are using 2 break points so I have a total of 3 types of layout using Responsive Web Design. Think Martha Stewart’s website.
    • Desktop – locked, centered width
    • Tablet / Chromebook – 100% width centered
    • Phone – vertical nav, centered
  • Never have a horizontal scroll bar.

Content Requirements

  • 6 pages
    • index.html (JPG information)
    • png.html
    • gif.html
    • svg.html
    • webp.html
    • avif.html
  • All pages will have consistent layout with use of semantic web elements including header, nav, and footer.
  • Images same width.
  • Answer the following for each format, using both HTML and CSS. Remember to be consistent with your layout, do one page first before you make a template out of it!
    • What does JPG stand for: (Joint Photographic Expert Group as an example)
    • When should we use JPG’s on the web? Why is it popular?
    • Does this format have transparency?
    • Does this format have animation?
    • Does JPG have Lossy or Lossless compression?
    • Display a JPG image – save it locally or hot link it.
    • Link to the Wikipedia page for that forma for more information for each format.

11:35 Lunch

  • No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
  • You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

DH22: Shading for Still Life’s

  • lastNameDH22.jpg

Week 22 Agency

  • lastNameAgency_1.jpg through lastNameAgency_3.jpg

Remember that you already really know the Skills deliverables for Week 22, and they are due Friday at 11:35. That is actually the first deadline you are going to hit… maybe work on those deliverables first …

12:40 1984

Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) is a dystopian novel by George Orwell that explores totalitarianism, mass surveillance, and the manipulation of truth through the story of Winston Smith in the superstate of Oceania, ruled by the omnipresent Party and its figurehead, Big Brother.

Read along with Mr. Cronin. Improve literacy, word decoding, enjoy a nice story, and unplug from the world.

1:00 Afternoon Break (15 minutes)

1:15 Afternoon Practice & Production

Only 5 minutes as it’s Wednesday – Dailies at 1:20!

1:20 Dailies

1:25 “19 Minutes”

Every day in GAWD will end with “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:

  • Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
  • Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
  • Unplug

At the end I will 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened.

1:45 Dismissal
