Wednesday, September 23rd

Wednesday, September 23rd

Wednesday Class Hours: 10:05 – 1:45
Mr. Cronin

Notes

  • Early release Wednesday! Callbacks:
    • Probably none because we have an assembly in the PM!
  • Jack – from Mrs. Wilson. “Come to M117 (with the blurb) with their lunch and from there we will go early to the auditorium to rehearse before the assembly start time of 12:45. So they will NOT be returning to program or going to any academics after lunch on the 23rd.“
  • Due to WorkKeys (for other programs) Mrs. Patterson can’t meet with us this week, so I am going to throw a curveball and use the AM session, so do to this, our assembly, and the fact we started on a Tuesday I am going to rework our schedule.

10:10 Premiere Practice

So we obviously had some Premiere issues with lag and locking up yesterday. The computers are the exact same, and the software is known to run very fast on these machines, so it has to be a setting … somewhere.

So after school yesterday I updated Premiere AND updated the GPU driver to the most current versions.

Today will be better, and if not, we will find the setting and fix it. It just may take some time – all help appreciated!

This morning let’s get some practice and play.

10:50 Morning Break (10 minutes)

11:00 Preparing for our CTE T-Shirt Assembly

  • Sit in our “section”.
  • Wear our t-shirts.
  • Win prizes!
  • Take all your gear with you when we go to the assembly as we are going to be dismissed from the auditorium.

Here is how the games are going to work:

We have divided the programs into 4 “teams” – you’ll see when you enter the auditorium where to sit according to that division.

When we get to the game portion of the assembly, we will be asking for one person from each of the teams to come up and participate in each “round” (all they have to do is answer a multiple choice question). Rather than have it be a free-for-all, we thought it would be wise to ask you ahead of time to have 1-2 students in mind from your program who would be responsible/reliable participants. You don’t need to let us know who- but please make sure the student(s) know!

and…

Game Details:

– It’s a multiple choice trivia game about CTE facts (no prior knowledge necessary – it’s just for fun)

– All programs have been sorted into 4 teams

– 1 person from each team competes each round (4 total at a time)

– Students competing will be on stage in chairs

– Each student will have answer cards (i.e., A, B, and C)

– Students don’t have to verbally say anything, but rather just need to hold up the card they think is the answer

– There are 10 total rounds (if we have enough time), so this will allow all but one program to go twice

– Having potential volunteers ahead of time will help to streamline things given the timing

Thank you!

Jp

So – I need 2 volunteers!

11:15 Sound Design

On the Public Drive there is a folder called soundDesignStart. Inside there are (3) 30 second clips from 3 different video games:

  1. Palworld
  2. Zelda – Ocarina of Time
  3. StarCraft II

You are going to do the Sound Design for one of those 3 clips. Starting with a file without any sound, you are going to use assets from FreeSound (or any other site you like) to create the atmosphere, mood, and sound design for that trailer.

When complete, export your final clip as lastNameSoundDesign.mp4.

First we will watch all 3 to get an idea – while you watch these silent clips, in your mind, think about the sounds you could use in the specific animations that make sense. What could you also search for that may be different (think of the pepper or the banana) that you could use in this project.

11:35 Lunch

  • No food in the room / eat in the Cafe.
  • You are welcome to return to the room when you have finished eating and work / hang out.

12:10 Afternoon Practice & Production / Midweek Morning Meetings

Due to the crazy weird wild schedules of life this week, you are going to have your “Midweek Morning Meetings” in the afternoon.

When not meeting with me use the time for production – as all of your assignments have been … assigned!
