- Week 16! 5 days of school till a 10 day vacation!
- Visitors tomorrow – farm that extra credit.
- Here is what this week looks like (5 days of school before vacation):
- Monday ->Thursday – normal
- Friday – as SOON as we take attendance, we are OUT. CAWD pays for your movie tickets, but if you want concessions, you pay. We have to start the movie on time – so it may make sense to find a concessions buddy to get through the line quicker.
- When we return from the movies I will put out the rest of the food that we had for our last game day to snack on – no Tarp, don’t bring anything in, but we can munch.
- Students WILL have to go to their 7/8 classes.
- We will NOT have English
- Sadly – we have been told that the following schools are starting vacation early, and you won’t be here – but if you CAN get here for attendance you are welcome to come with us, just have to think about how to get here and back. Who is closed next Friday?

- If on the Pin Design track, this week you are creating V3 – the penultimate design! You should be getting close to a final, production ready design. We will be presenting V2 today and getting feedback, just like last week. Here are the final, approved specs for the CTE Pin Design competition – please if on the track download and read, just a page and a half long. You are being held against these specs going forward.

11:00 Critiques
Each week we will upload our work on Monday as a class. I will then present your work to the class. Every week we will pick a new student to proactive giving constructive criticism. Constructive criticism is a type of feedback that offers specific and actionable advice to help employees to improve. In the professional setting we need to be to talk professionally about the work, even if you don’t “love” the person who created it.
If selected, you will pick 1 thing that works, and 1 thing to improve upon next time. Remember we are separating the Design from the Designer. We are looking for actionable input.

11:30 Drawing Content: 3 Point Perspective
- Review of 3 Point perspective, this time with the 3rd vanishing point at the top of the page
- The goal here is looking up at something and making it feel large, compared to
11:55 DH16: Tree House in 3 Point Perspective
This week I want you to setup your vanishing points similar to what we just completed, with the third vanishing point at the top.
I want you to create a tree house. If you are overwhelmed by the tree aspect, feel free to create a “tree tower” made of construction materials, or a straight up tree like a spine (see above).
Let’s agree that its some sort of kid based, elevated, play structure.

Everyone will need their character to animate TOMORROW morning! We will be doing 3 Pass / Fail animations this week, assigned, animated, and presented immediately on the spot. Think of this as a mini animation festival.

2:25 “19 Minutes”
4 of 5 days per week we will end our day in CAWD with the “19 Minutes” of silent reading. Closing down our day with silent reading provides many benefits:
- Improve Literacy Skills / Reading Stamina
- Create space for a small reading meditation where we can disconnect from the world and get lost in a story
- Unplug
At 2:44 each day I will come to 3 students and ask for a 1 sentence explanation of what happened in your story over that day’s reading session. It is neat to hear little pockets of a story, here and there.
